New Details Emerge About the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies

Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic demises of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the house, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Furthermore refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes descriptions of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
