Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed game that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in chaos and madness with the same glee, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two creators whose work have represented all of those things.
Show Details
Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by having a new location and ensemble in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing confidence and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a variation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the core of people through this multifaceted and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual bold, daring approach to the television.”
A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
