Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL

This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen try too much or was it just a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard season average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into seven points just two plays

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team from the situation - not the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season

Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but are they the best?

One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Orchard Park seems like a statement

Their pair of losses came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly deserves credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his team to victory

The defense is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, although a significant contest against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There is a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash

Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up forty points to go to 7-2 before next week's major game between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest

Each could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
